To not even look underwater
when in french Polynesia is to miss out on the majority of what these
fabulous islands actually have to offer.
From the north to the south,
the temperature varies little. Two seasons exist: The austral summer when
the warmest month is march and the austral winter when the coolest month
is August. In Tahiti the average temperature is 26°-28°C( °F).
In summer it is quite humid.
The water and air temperatures are at their maximum, and the rainfall
is slightly higher at this time of year.
In winter the weather is slightly drier with the water temperature cooler
but never falling below 25°C ( °F). It is the time of year when the south-eastern
winds (Mara'amu) are blowing strong bringing cooler air up from the south.
